INTRODUCTION

 

The Yellow Pages Digital Marketing Transformation Contest (the “Contest”) is brought to you by Yellow Pages Digital & Media Solutions Limited (the “Sponsor”, or “Yellow Pages”). 

Yellow Pages has existed to champion the local economy. Local businesses are owned by people who live in your community. We believe that these entrepreneurs are essential to the identity of your city and town. They are your neighbours – working every day to innovate and bring you quality services. 

 

Submit your entry to the Digital Marketing Transformation Contest today! The confirmed winner will receive a $10,000 digital marketing transformation designed to help their business grow. Please review the full eligibility and entry requirements here.  

OFFICIAL MARKETING TRANSFORMATION CONTEST RULES 

[A] AGREEMENT 

1. By submitting your contest entry, the required Entry Form, and your acceptance of these Official Marketing Transformation Contest Rules contained herein (the “Contest Rules” or the “Rules”), you (or, interchangeably, the “Entrant”) agree to be bound by the Rules and the decisions of the Yellow Pages judging committee, which shall be final and binding. You further acknowledge that the Rules may be amended, varied, or otherwise modified at any time up to and including the final awarding of the Prize, at the sole discretion of Yellow Pages. 

 

[B] CONTEST PERIODS 

1. The entry period for the Contest is from October 6, 2025 at 12:01 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) to October 31st, 2025 11:59 p.m. ET (the “Entry Period”) 

2. Entry submission time and date will be counted at the time and date on which the Entry is received.  

[C] ELIGIBILITY  

1. The Contest is only open to current registered Canadian business owners ages 18+ (or accompanied by a guardian as needed) except business either owned or operated by employees, representatives, or agents of Yellow Pages Limited and its affiliates, distributors, advertising/promotional agencies, subsidiaries, and partners, including but not limited to, Yellow Pages Digital Media & Solutions Limited (collectively, the “Sponsor” or “Yellow Pages”).   

[D] PRIZES 

1. The Confirmed Winner (as further described herein) will receive a Digital Marketing Transformation Prize Package consisting of up to $10,000 CAD in digital marketing solutions and advertising services provided by Yellow Pages for 12 months. One (1) Confirmed Winner will be selected from all eligible entries received during the Contest Entry Period. The Confirmed Winner’s name, business profile, and details of their Marketing Transformation will be featured in Yellow Pages promotional channels, which may include print, digital, and social media communications. 

 

The Digital Marketing Transformation Prize Package will include, without limitation: 

 

  • Paid Advertising through Search Engine Marketing (SEM); 

  • A tool to manage Visibility, Reputation, and Social Media Management; 

  • Priority Placement on YP.ca; and 

  • A brand-new Pro Website powered by Wix. 

2. Confirmed Winners will be announced online at https://solutions.yp.ca/digital-marketing-transformation-contest well as on Yellow Pages / Pages Jaunes - Canada (Facebook); yellowpages_ca (Instagram). Yellow Pages further reserves the right to announce the Confirmed Winners in any other media including but not limited to other social media channels, in Yellow Pages directories, newspapers and/or magazines (both printed and digital). 

3. All prizes must be accepted as awarded, are non-transferable and are not convertible to cash. In the event that a Confirmed Winner is unwilling or unable to accept the Prize as awarded or does not agree to the terms of the Prize package, the Entrant with the next highest score (the “Alternate Winner”) will be selected in their place, subject to verification and compliance with these Contest Rules.

[E] HOW TO ENTER  

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. All interested in submitting their Entry may do so by visiting https://solutions.yp.ca/digital-marketing-transformation-contest to access the official online Entry Form or by calling 1-844-875-4290 to receive a printed Entry Form by mail or email.  

2. To enter the Contest, each participant must submit a fully completed entry (the “Entry”). An Entry will only be considered valid if it includes: ,

  • A completed Entry Form, including responses to all required questions. 

  • Confirmation of eligibility by checking the box that the Entry is submitted by the business owner and that the business is registered in Canada. 

  • Business information, including: 

  1. Business name 

  2. Business phone number, email address, website, and social media handle(s) (if applicable) 

  3. Applicant details, including the full name of the applicant (and parent/guardian information, if applicable).

  • Acceptance of the Contest Rules, including acceptance of these Official Marketing Transformation Contest Rules in full. 

Failure to provide all of the above information will result in the Entry being deemed incomplete and therefore ineligible. 

3. Incomplete, late and/or illegible Entry Forms will not be accepted. Yellow Pages is not responsible for late, lost, misdirected, delayed, incomplete or incompatible Entries. Yellow Pages reserves the right to make any enquiry about an Entry or an Entrant if, in its own discretion, it has reasons to believe that the Entrant is perpetrating any fraud or any attempt at cheating.

4. Each Entrant may submit only one (1) Entry during the Contest Entry Period. Multiple entries from the same Entrant, whether by using different email addresses, identities, or otherwise, will not be accepted and may result in disqualification. Each Entry must include all required elements as defined herein, including the completed Entry Form. By entering the Contest, Entrants warrant that all information, materials, and content provided in their Entry (including business descriptions, images, logos, testimonials, and supporting documents, if any) are accurate, truthful, and owned by the Entrant or used with proper authorization. Entrants must have obtained prior written approval for the use of any third-party copyrighted or trademarked material included in their Entry. For clarity, the Entrant hereby warrants that the Entry does not infringe, or potentially infringe, upon the intellectual property rights or other legal rights of any third party. If the Judges or Yellow Pages have reason to believe that an Entry violates these Rules, the Entry may be disqualified. The Entrant accepts any and all liability and consequences that may result directly or indirectly from the submission of false, misleading, or unauthorized content.

[G] WINNER SELECTION PROCESS 

1. The judging committee (the “Judges”) shall be appointed by Yellow Pages in such number and of such qualification as it deems appropriate, at its sole discretion. All decisions of the Judges shall be final and binding on all Entrants, and no appeal or correspondence will be entered into. Judges will review each complete Entry, including the Entry Form and any supporting materials, in accordance with the Contest theme: “Marketing Transformation for Local Growth.”

 

2. Entries will be evaluated and awarded points based on the following Scoring Criteria: 

 

Criteria: Business Story & Vision 

Description: Clarity, passion, and relevance of the applicant’s story. Shows a compelling need and vision for growth. 

Points: 0–25 pts 

Criteria: Impact of Transformation 

Description: The degree to which the prize could make a measurable difference (e.g., reach, visibility, growth). 

Points: 0–35 pts 

 

Criteria: Business Differentiator 

Description: Shows how the business impacts its community, employees, or customers. 

Points: 0–25 pts 

Criteria: Presentation & Effort 

Description: Quality, completeness, and effort shown in the application (clarity of answers, accuracy, content). 

Points: 0–15 pts 

Maximum Score: 100 points 

3. All Entries will be reviewed by the Judges. The Judges will award scores to each Entry based on the above-described system. The Entry with the highest total score that has adhered to all Rules will be deemed the Eligible Winner.  

 

4. Yellow Pages reserves the right to disqualify or remove any Entry at its discretion if it deems the Entrant or Entry does not, in the reasonable view of the Judges or Yellow Pages, embody the spirit of the Marketing Transformation Contest, or if for any reason the Entry, or any circumstances surrounding it, appear to expose Yellow Pages to risk of legal proceedings, reputational damage, or other potential loss. For clarity, any Entries containing false or misleading information, unlawful content, or any political, racial, religious, offensive, or inappropriate material will not be considered. 

 

5. In the event of a tie, the Judges shall determine the winner based on the highest score in the “Business Story & Vision” category. If still tied, the Judges shall use “Impact of Transformation” as the next deciding factor, followed by “Creativity & Originality,” then “Community Contribution,” and finally “Presentation & Effort”. If in the process of judging, no Entries achieve a minimum threshold score of 70/100 points (the “Minimum Score”), Yellow Pages reserves the right not to award the Prize or to select an alternate Entrant who, in the Judges’ discretion, best meets the Contest objectives. Yellow Pages will begin contacting the Eligible Winner by December 9th, 2025 (the “Selection Date”). Yellow Pages will make up to three (3) attempts to contact the Eligible Winner by telephone or email (using the information provided in the Entry). If the Eligible Winner cannot be reached within three (3) attempts or five (5) business days of the Selection Date (whichever occurs first), or if notification is returned as undeliverable, the Eligible Winner will be disqualified and Yellow Pages reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to select an alternate Eligible Winner following the same judging criteria.   

 

6. The Eligible Winner will have five (5) business days to complete, sign, and return the Release form further detailed below before being declared the Confirmed Winner. For clarity, a “Confirmed Winner” is an Eligible Winner who has completed and returned a signed Release and been officially declared as the Confirmed Winner by Yellow Pages. 

 

[H] RELEASE AND PUBLICITY CONSENT 

 

1. Prior to being named a Confirmed Winner, each Eligible Winner will be required to provide proof of Canadian business registration and valid official photo identification confirming their identity (or their guardian as required per local provincial and/or federal laws) and proof of their ability to bind the business in question to sign a Declaration of Eligibility and Release (the “Release”). Through the Release, Yellow Pages and its related parties will be released from any and all liability in connection with the Contest, the awarding of the Prize, and the use of the Winner’s name, business, trademarks and/or logos, or likeness for promotional purposes. 

2. As part of the Release, the Eligible Winner will re-confirm compliance with these Rules and consent to the use and reproduction of their Entry, including any information contained therein such as their name, business name, business profile, and story, as well as their photograph and any additional information that Yellow Pages, in its sole discretion, may deem necessary. Such use may occur in any and all forms of media (including digital, print, broadcast, and social media) for purposes of publicity, public disclosure, announcement, promotional materials, and related activities, without further notice, approval, or compensation. 

 

3. For clarity, Entrants will retain ownership of all intellectual property rights in their Entry. However, by entering this Contest, Entrants grant to Yellow Pages a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, publish, display, and communicate their Entry (in whole or in part), including their name, likeness, and business information, trademarks, logos, for the purpose of awarding the digital marketing transformation prize as well as administering, promoting, and advertising the Contest and Yellow Pages’ business activities, in any media now known or later developed. 

 

 

[I] GENERAL TERMS 

 

1. By agreeing to the Contest Rules, the Entrant agrees to Yellow Pages collecting, retaining, processing or otherwise using the Entrant’s personal information solely for the purpose of processing the Entry into the Contest, as well as the promotion and administration of the Contest and the creation of any promotional, press or media materials relating to the Contest, including but not limited to contacting the Eligible Winner(s) as well as the disclosure and announcement of the Confirmed Winner(s). Any personal information collected, processed, or retained will be treated and eventually destroyed in accordance with Yellow Pages’ applicable policies relating to Personal Information.   

 

2. By agreeing to the Contest Rules and by providing any information as part of the Entry, whether online or by mail, the Entrant warrants that all such information supplied is truthful, accurate, and not misleading or otherwise incomplete. Where it reasonably or justifiably appears to the Judges or Yellow Pages that the Entrant is in breach of this warranty, or where the Judges or Yellow Pages understands or apprehends there to be risk that the Entrant has or will bring the Contest into disrepute, the Judges or Yellow Pages shall be entitled to take such steps as necessary to conclude the Entrant’s involvement with the Contest forthwith. Moreover, Entrant accepts any and all liability and/or consequences that may ensue as a result.

 

3. The Entrant(s), Eligible Winner(s) or Confirmed Winner(s) shall not make, or permit any person to make, any public announcement, communication or circular, be it written, verbal or otherwise broadcast on any platform, including, but not limited to social media, on or concerning the existence, subject matter, results or terms of the Contest, without the prior written consent of Yellow Pages, save where such information is already in the public domain. Breach of this section shall be considered a breach of confidentiality and shall be considered as a material breach of these Rules and may result in action by Yellow Pages, including but not limited to the disqualification of the Entrant.   

 

4. If a dispute arises regarding who submitted an online Entry, the Entry will be deemed to be submitted by the authorized account holder of the email address provided at time of Entry. Authorized account holder is the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address.  

 

5. These Rules (as may be amended from time to time) constitute the entire agreement between the parties and supersedes and extinguishes all previous agreements, promises, assurances, warranties, representations, and understandings between them, whether written or oral, relating to their subject matter.  

 

6. By participating in the contest, you agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless Yellow Pages, its parent, subsidiaries, affiliates and/or related companies and each of their officers, directors, shareholders, employees, advisors, assignees, agents, licensees, representatives, advertising, media buyers and promotional agencies from any and all damages, injuries, claims, causes of action, or losses of any kind (including but not limited to lawyers’ fees) arising out of or relating to your participation in the Contest, your naming as Eligible Winner or Confirmed Winner, your violation of any term of Rules, your violation of any third party right, including without limitation any copyright, property, or privacy right, or any claim that your Entry caused any type of damage to a third party. 

 

7. ANY ATTEMPT BY AN ENTRANT OR ANY OTHER PERSON TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEBSITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH PERSON TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. 

 

8. This contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and is void where prohibited.  

 

9. In the event of any discrepancy or inconsistency between the terms and conditions of these Rules and disclosures or other statements contained in any Contest-related materials, including, but not limited to: the Contest Entry Form, French version of these Rules, and/or point of sale, television, print or online advertising; the terms and conditions of these English Rules shall prevail, govern and control. 

 

10. The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these Rules shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision.
